Remember, a good (project) manager is home on time and so is his team!

Erik Hamburger

Don't try to be a superhuman/hero.

Everyone needs rest. If you need more and more time for your project activities there is clearly something wrong the way you plan your projects/activities. The same goes for your team. If your team is required to do more and more overtime that is an indication there's something not right.

Do something about it. It is not cool to force yourself and your team to work beyond the point of sanity. You need rest to stay focused. There is ample evidence that after a certain amount of hours worked the productivity and quality of work delivered drops significantly.

As a result of this see-me-I-am-working-a-lot-so-must-be-really-good behaviour you burn yourself out and you introduce more errors.

Can you afford that in the log run?

I thought so.

Now stop reading and take a break.
